About the instructor :


Hesham Harby

AMIChemE, AMEI, PHA Leader

 

Hisham Harby is a seasoned Process and Process Safety Engineer with 15 years of experience in onshore and offshore facilities. He has a strong background in oil, gas, and LPG plant operations, process optimization, and facility design. His expertise spans commissioning, start-ups, shutdowns, and management of change (MOC), ensuring safe and efficient process operations.

Hisham is proficient in P&ID updates, FEED studies (design reviews, cause & effect diagrams, feasibility studies), and process simulation using Aspen HYSYS. He is a certified PHA Leader, specializing in HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, SIL, and SIMOPS assessments. Additionally, he has extensive experience in Process Safety Management (PSM), Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS), Functional Safety Assessments (FSA), and SIL Verification/Validation.

Beyond his engineering expertise, Hisham is also a dedicated instructor who has delivered specialized training courses in process and process safety across various organizations, including OGS (EGPC), BUOG (Basra University, Iraq), Sudan, and Al Furat Petroleum Company. His courses cover topics such as process techniques, troubleshooting, commissioning and start-up, process safety management systems, audits, and HAZOP/LOPA leadership.
